“If you are already an Instructor with another recognized agency and want to expand your teaching range by crossing over to PADI then we have just the program for you.”

As an established Instructor we recognize that you already have significant teaching experience and adapting this to the PADI system of education should be an interesting and enjoyable experience.

 

The PADI IDC is made up of 2 distinct components;

• the Assistant Instructor (AI) Course
• the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program.

To cross over you only need to take part in the OWSI part of the program. However, we do still invite all crossover candidates to sign up for the whole IDC if they prefer.

 The OWSI introduces you to PADI’s approach to teaching. We will review the standards, sequencing and teaching methods of each program that you will be able to teach as well as run evaluation training in the classroom, confined water and open water.

We know that you already have the knowledge to teach diving. So we prefer to see the crossover as a way of getting to know the PADI system better.

After completing the OWSI, you will attend the PADI IE. This is where PADI examiners will test your teaching skills and knowledge. Doing so allows you to meet the requirements and certify as a PADI Instructor.

We schedule 10 IDC programs a year and you can join for the crossover on any program that we run.
